Few, if any, restaurant openings bring the people out like a Shake Shack opening. When a city, state or region gets its first location, the hype is real. The lines may be crazy, but customers don’t seem to mind. They’re celebrating. They’re pumped. They’re ready to finally have their dream burger spot in their own backyard.
As collaborative partners with everyone’s favorite Shack, WD thrives on the challenge of delighting every Shake Shack customer that eagerly gets the chance to dine at each new location.
One of our favorite parts of the challenge is bringing more local flavor to their individual restaurants. In Denver’s River North Art District, that meant an A-frame structure to provide a modern, “urban lodge” design concept. In Columbus, one of our talented designers, Candice Oates, designed and painted a custom mural, proudly representing the capital city. In Ann Arbor, our team created floor-to-ceiling windows and patio seating, perfect for guests to enjoy natural light, indoor or out.
Both Shake Shack and WD Partners take pride in bringing exclusive, local features to every city lucky enough to have their own Shake Shack.
But where there’s exclusivity – for a restaurant to be successful and scalable – there must also be consistency. Our end-to-end design and development expertise provides that consistency for Shake Shack. Our teams help drive each Shake Shack project from concept to construction with cohesive collaboration between our design, architectural and engineering teams.
As Shake Shack continues to grow and open more locations, we are developing a unique kit-of-parts, which aids in scaling of future builds, while allowing for those beloved local touches that make Shake Shack truly feel like a part of each community.
