Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant is a Chicago-based dining getaway that emphasizes sophisticated food paired with exceptional wines in a setting that is reminiscent of a Napa style winery. Wine barrel racks, varietal displays and a feature reserve barrel highlight Cooper’s Hawk’s unique signature wine.
The reserve barrel wine is only available by the glass in their restaurants.
A wine tasting/retail area at the front of the restaurant allows customers to interact with Cooper’s Hawk’s wine collection while waiting to be seated.
While all Cooper’s Hawk’s restaurants are unique, much care is taken to ensure that each location possesses the distinctive personality of the Cooper’s Hawk brand.
For a modern twist on a classic/rustic winery theme, metallic and polished metals are juxtaposed against dark, rich woods and other natural elements. The rustic-modern feel is extended through stone walls, natural cedar details and faux plaster wall treatments.
Close-up images of vineyards and vineyard employees, printed on canvas, capture the wine making process and highlight the expertise and care that goes into wine making. Additionally, wine barrels and magnums of wine are used as screens between seating zones.
Cooper’s Hawk was looking to work with an integrated design/build firm with the geographic reach to help them expand beyond the Illinois market. They engaged WD Partners to assist with their aggressive expansion goals and specialized design aesthetic. Taking advantage of the expansive space, WD created an exciting dining experience that remains true to the ambiance of an authentic winery.
